Gumtree Swapup

Gumtree Swapup was launched at TweetCamp 2009. The project was commissioned by Gumtree to provide a mashup between their classified adverts and Twitter. The site was part of a four-week competition that encouraged contestants to swap items with others in order to gain something of greater value.

Technical details: The Gumtree Swapup project was built on PHP and Zend Framework. Authentication is conducted using Twitter's OAuth API. swapup.gumtree.com

Better Generation

OmniWiki has been working with BetterGeneration for over a year to produce the Power Predictor web application. The web application provides in-depth analysis of data recorded by the Power Predictor devices. This allows users to make informed choices regarding the most suitable wind turbines and solar cells for their specific location. We expect to be supporting up to 10,000 users in 2009. powerpredictor.com

Leapfrog

Leapfrog is a charitable initiative led by Travers Smith, one of the UK's top law firms. Leapfrog aims to provide technical, financial and legal assistance to carbon-reduction projects around the world. OmniWiki is providing Leapfrog with both technical consultation and software development with the aim of developing a system though which applications, projects and sponsors can be managed.

Defined Purpose

Defined Purpose helps people at a life crossroads choose a direction for their future. The web application is used in a workshop setting and will eventually be available in a 'self service' form.

Technical details: definedpurpose.com uses a multitier architecture to provide a flexible decision making system. The application is run on Amazon Web Services using open source software. Memcache is used to provide a multi-level cache. definedpurpose.com
